Garingboom is the Afrikaans name for the Agave. Also called Century Plants and Xikwenga (Xitsonga). Although this particular Agave is actually native to Mexico it is naturalised in SA andwas photographed right here in Kwazulu Natal somewhere near the little town of Colenso..One day I want to find myself one of these to use as my Christmas tree.
